Measuring What Matters
NSDI believes development should be measured by meaningful changes in people’s lives and communities—not simply by the number of activities conducted. Our impact framework is therefore designed to examine both what programmes deliver and whether they contribute to stronger services, livelihoods, institutions, participation and sustainability.
As NSDI’s programmes are implemented, this page will provide verified programme results, community stories and relevant performance information.

The number of people directly and indirectly benefiting from programmes and projects.
Women & Youth Participation
The extent to which women and young people participate in consultations, training, livelihoods and leadership opportunities.
Projects Implemented
The number and type of community and ward-level projects successfully implemented.
Skills & Capacity
The number of people trained and community institutions whose capacity has been strengthened.
Essential Services
Improvements associated with interventions such as water, health, education and community infrastructure.
Livelihood Support
Individuals and households benefiting from livelihood, agricultural, entrepreneurship and economic-empowerment programmes.
Resource Accountability
Resources mobilised, programme expenditure and information demonstrating responsible resource utilisation.
Sustainability
The proportion of relevant projects supported by community management, maintenance or sustainability arrangements.
Our Definition of Impact
Our impact will be measured by the extent to which communities gain improved access to services, stronger local institutions, better livelihood opportunities and greater participation in decisions affecting their development.

Monitoring and evaluation will help NSDI understand what is working, identify challenges and continuously improve programme design and implementation. Where appropriate, results will be communicated through programme reports, community stories, partner updates, annual reports and other accountability mechanisms.
